Championship drama and double wins at Nutts Corner
The Junior Rods Gold Roof Final opened the programme, with Noah Teggart taking the first win of the day in car 218. Nathan Cregan finished second. Sam Preston won Heat 1, while Cregan came back to take Heat 2. Codi Wilson was a consistent front-runner, finishing second in both heats.
Harry Martin won the ORCi Ministox Irish Closed Championship in car 181, with Caolan Fegan and Casey Lee next home. In the separate Revenge race, Martin was rolled in an incident involving Fegan and could not continue. Fegan was later disqualified. Casey Lee took the win, with car 99 and Ollie Harkness following him home.
The Saloon Stock Cars had a different winner in each race. Jonny Patterson opened with Heat 1, ahead of Ryan Patton and Stuart McCammon. Kieran McIvor won Heat 2, with Ryan Wright and Robert Mawhinney behind him. McCammon saved his best result for last, winning the final ahead of Patterson and Anthony McIvor. Patterson backed up his heat win with second in the final, while Wright finished the day with a second and a fifth.
Ryan McCrory won BriSCA F2 Heat 1, with Aidan McFerran second and Gavin Fegan third. Fegan responded by winning Heat 2, where McFerran again took second and McCrory third. Fegan then completed the double in the final, leading home Craig McConnell and Dylan Fegan.
In the GP2 Lightning Rods, Lewis Peoples won the Irish Closed Championship in car 777, with George Elser and Jonny Kerr among the leading finishers. Trevor Bodenham took the separate Revenge race in car 48, ahead of Paul Nesbitt and Mark McCambridge. David Nesbitt finished fifth in the Irish Closed and fourth in the Revenge.
The Micro F2 Stock Cars brought the programme to a close. Kurtis Peoples was one of the day’s standout performers, securing two victories.
