Samuel Percy continued to impress in the Brisca F2 Stock Cars where the Randalstown teenager completed both heats undefeated. Percy was well on his way to adding the final honours to his win tally also, however mechanical issues ruled him out mid racing forcing him to retire. Corey Dawson-Stirling took up the running at the helm and from there went on to take the win. Veteran racer Ronald Scott recorded a pleasing runner up finish with Jonny Stirling third.
Jamie Cardwell was the first to feature in the ORCi Stock Rods where he picked up a fine win in the opening heat, Matthew McKinstry held of stiff pressures from behind to secure the second encounter. The final was a lively affair as the star graded drivers battled their way towards the front. Andrew McLesiter to the flag this time around however after a steward’s inquiry he was penalised 2 spots for earlier contact. Cardwell was promoted to the top spot with British and Irish Open Champion William Donnell the runner up.
The lower grade drivers made their presence felt in the Gp2 Lightning Rods where Jamie Burney and Steven Elder shared the heat wins before the experienced David Nesbitt cranked up the style to bag the meeting final. Next across the line was the earlier heat winner Burney with Ricky Peoples coming home in third.
Maia Thompson was on fine form in the Junior Rod formula where she scored victory in heat one, crossing the line well clear of the chasing pack. Thompson looked as though she had pulled of the double in heat two however a late tangle up with a back marker would end her race, Noah Teggart was in the right place at the right time to pick up the pieces and take the flag. Come the final Thompson had dusted herself of and was back in the game taking the chequered flag ahead of Codi Wilson and Teggart.
Gary Freeburn and Craig Bodenham shared the 1300 Stock Car heat honours before local man Willie Stewart romped his way through from the star grade to claim the final spoils. Stewart was followed across the line by Bodenham and Freeburn.
The ORCi Ministox grid was inflamed with the welcome addition of Scottish drivers Dean Heeps and Demi Ritchie. Local lad Harry Martin got this afternoon of to a promising start with a runway heat one victory before Scotland’s Heeps survived a late dustup to hold on and take the heat two win. Martin was back to form in the final taking the win again, Heeps was runner up with Ritchie third this time.
