Nervous Noel reigns supreme in Back to Basic Bangers.

The Back to Basic Bangers were again the star attraction at Sunday’s race meeting where Nervous Noel (Anderson) was the pace setter. Anderson picked up his first win of the day in what was a busy opening heat. Larne man William Donnell was the heat two victor before Anderson swept the board again to take the honours in the meeting final.

It was a mixed bag in the Brisca F2 Stock Cars with three different winners throughout the course of the afternoon. Local man Stephen ‘speedy’ McCready was the first to taste success with a well calculated heat one win. Gavin Fegan got his hands on the chequered flag in heat two before Bangor’s Craig McConnell found strong pace in time to claim the final win, making it two in a row. Next across the line was the heat winners Fegan and McCready.

There was again a full grid of 2L Saloon Stock Cars in action with the welcome addition of Bradley Woods and Calvin Blake who both made their post lock down debuts. Dylan Booth continued his good run of form from the novice grade to take a double heat victory. Co Armagh’s Geoff Martin avoided all the early chaos to take up the running at the front in the meeting final. Martin soon had the Irish Champion Matthew Stirling approaching large in his mirror, however he was able to sway until Stirling shunted him aside in the closing laps, Stirling completed the remaining handful of laps to bag the win, Martin was second with Anthony McIvor third.

Mark Crawford continued his impressive bout of form in the ORCi Stock Rods capturing and heat one and final victory, making it an unfamiliar three final wins in a row. The newcomer to the adult ranks Crawford was denied the perfect hat trick by Mark Kilpatrick who took the spoils in heat two.

In the Junior Rod class newcomer Calyn People continued to make his presence felt , securing a double victory in the heats, The more established stars benefited from the extra laps in the meeting final allowing Jordan Nicholl to come through the field and pick up the spoils, Jack Morrow was the runner up with Sam Stewart third.

Another good field of Micro F2’s took to the track to battle it out over three events. Oisin Arbuckle picked up the glory in events one and two before Andrew Russell cranked up the pace in event three to capture the glory; Arbuckle was next across the line.
