Gold Cup Glory for Shea!

A pleasing entry of 15 Junior Rods were in attendance to contest the annual Gold Cup title. Two heat races which were won by Jamie Hunter & Cole McFall were used to form the grid in points order for the title decider. It was Joshua McKinstry who set the early pace in the trophy race however it wasn't long until it become apparent that Shea 'Dangerman' Duff was a man on a mission as he positioned himself on the outside line looking for a way past the race leader. Duff continued his gallant run on the outside with patience until McKinstry had to manoeuvre off his racing line and around a back-marking car which allowed Duff to slide through to take up the running. Duff completed the laps to take the win ahead of McKinstry, Mark Crawford pulled of a great drive to pick up a fine third place finish.

Kincaid storms to Grand National victory.

Antrim's Christopher Kincaid was the run away winner in the concluding qualifying round of the Raymond Harper Automotive Grand National Series. The points haul from his latest victory will have ensured a high starting slot in the series finale which takes place on Wednesday 30th August. Earlier in the evening Antony Kincaid and Sam McKay enjoyed heats wins while local lad Bradley McKinstry romped to a convincing victory in the meeting final.

Support formula round up.

The support action for the evening was provided by the Micro F2's and Stock Rods.  Sam McKinstry was the form man in the Stock Rod section where he landed glory in both heat one and the final only to be denied the perfect hat trick by the rapid Stephen McCready who picked up the spoils in the second heat.  McKinstry was followed home in the final by Ian Thompson Snr and Niall McFerran. The Micro F2's contested three incident free events with Tyler McClurkin and Ava McCreight emerging as the top performers on this occasion.

The race action continues this coming Sunday (13 August – 2.00pm). The main attraction will be the ever popular Caravan Destruction Derby. Also on the busy race card will be the GP2 Lightning Rod Gold Cup, Micro F2's, Brisca F2's & 1300 Stock Cars.
