Blair scoops F2 Silverware.

The Brisca F2 Stock Cars were again out in force at Wednesday's Nutts Corner Raceway fixture, 21 drivers took to the track for heat one. The action was fast and furious with plenty of paint trading throughout the field especially among the blue and star graded drivers. Gordy McKee took full advantage of his yellow grade starting slot to cruise to a fine victory in the opening heat. McKee looked as though he was on target to repeat his success in heat two until the former Irish Open champion Ryan McCrory blasted through to the front after a late caution period, McCrory recorded the win with McKee runner up. McKee set the early pace during the meeting final, however it soon become clear that fellow yellow grader Gary Blair had stronger pace. Blair was quick to make his move on McKee moving through into the top spot, Billy Finnegan Jnr was another who was featuring well as was McCrory who had already burst through into forth place. Blair completed the laps to claim victory ahead of McCrory who closed the gap drastically over the closing laps, Finnegan Jnr rounded out the podium finishers in third position. It was also Round 1 of the Raymond Harper Automotive Grand National Series for the F2 Stock Cars, McKee put in another top performance to claim honours in this event which rounded out a busy 4 race format for the rapid single seater’s.

2L Saloon and Micro F2 Round Up

11 Micro F2's were in action for their latest instalment of race action. Each of the races proved to be rather unpredictable as the cars all seemed to bunch together in the closing laps, leaving it hard to predict the outcome. Rueben kernohan looked as though he would take the win in the opening event however Jack Morrow was on hand to come storming through on the final lap to take victory. Abbie McKinstry put on a fine display in heat two where it appeared she could lift the flag, this was to be denied by Tyler McClurkin who found a last effort burst of speed to record the win. It was a case of saving the best to last, as the final was won by Kernohan who crossed the line just inches ahead of McClurkin.

The mighty 2L Saloons treated the onlookers to another dose of heavy metal action as they come together with one and other in tussles for position. The McIvor Brothers Kieran and Anthony shared the heat wins before Anthony scooped the meeting final honours, after a perfectly judged last bend hit on the long time race leader Daryl McCammon. The contact spun McCammon around which allowed Kieran to sneak through for second spot.

Top Performance from Ty

Ty Richardson was the toast of the Junior Rod scene where he enjoyed two wins in what was an eventful evening of Junior Rod racing. Mark Crawford set the pace in heat one before a yellow flag was required to retrieve Amy Bradford's stricken machinery from the home straight, Crawford headed the field once again on the restart, by this stage Ty Richardson was on his tail. Crawford was now under pressure from the rapid Richardson, in a misjudgement Crawford left a small gap on the inside while entering turn one, Richardson was quick to take this as an invitation, blasting through to take the lead and half spinning Crawford in the process. Ty took the win however he was docked two positions for contact with Crawford this promoted the second place finisher Sam Wilson to first. There was no denying the win to Richardson in heat two where he recorded a flawless victory ahead of Shea Duff and Wilson. The meeting final was a somewhat lively affair which featured a controversial coming together between Matthew Drysdale and Joshua McKinstry, the result of this was major damage, a caution period and some stern words from the race Steward. Richardson was again a dominant force after the restart, where he completed the race distance to take another win ahead of Duff and Wilson.
