King George Reigns!

Randalstown ace George Esler was the toast of the GP2 Lightning Rod scene on Sunday afternoon where he stormed to victory in the 2017 Gold Cup showdown. Esler and David Nesbitt shared the heat victories before Esler went on to take a flag to flag victory in the title decider, Esler powered his rapid Vauxhall from pole position and as the saying goes 'the rest was history'. At the Flag Esler was well clear of the gallant runner up Paul Nesbitt, Larne's William Donnell recorded a creditable third place finish.

Final victory for Sam.

The F2 Stock Car entry was enhanced with the welcome addition of English stars Kelvyn Marshall  and Jon Palmer. Local lad Bradley McKinstry emerged from the heat events unbeaten after putting in two flawless performances from the star garde. While again in the meeting final McKinstry was in top form he was unable to close the gap on the rapid Sam McKay who held control at the front. McKay completed the distance to take the silverware ahead of McKinstry and Christopher Kincaid.

Support formula round up.

The support action for the afternoon was provided by the Micro F2's and 1300 Stock Cars.  A healthy showing of 1300 Stock Cars were on hand to entertain the large gathering of onlookers, Antrim's Bradley Woods was the runaway winner of heat one before Jon McQuillan stamped his authority on the second heat. The heat two win had obviously given McQuillan the appetite for glory as he went on to take the spoils in the meeting final where Thomas McCrory was the runner up ahead of Calvin Blake. Chelsy Rainey enjoyed victories in both the opening Micro F2 events before Jack Morrow dominated proceedings during the final encounter.

A spectacular Caravan Destruction Derby concluded the afternoon's race card with 13 competitors in action. After ten minutes of utter destruction it was local lad Thomas Megarry who emerged the victor.

The race action continues on Wednesday 30th August at 7.30pm,  the Brisca F2 Grand National Series Final will headline the race card which will also feature Stock Rod NC Masters, Micro F2's & Junior Rods.
