Kincaid reigns in F2’s

Antrim’s Chris Kincaid was unstoppable in the F2 Stock Cars romping to a faultless hat trick of wins in what was an evening of explosive action.  Heat 1 started with a bang when newcomer David Lilburn collided with the wall resulting in a visit to the hospital that then set the scene for more drama on the restart with Wayne Hewitt barrel rolling along the home straight. Heat 2 passed off with less excitement than the previous encounter and the final looked as though it was going to end peacefully also but that wasn’t to be as a pile up on the last lap claimed 3 or 4 victims. Kincaid collected the flag in both the heats as well as the final where Gavin Fegan and Conor Hughes were next across the line.

Reid to the double

Darryl Reid from Cullybackey enjoyed a fine brace of wins in the GP2 Lightning Rods when they made their debut appearance at the raceway for 2014.  Reid made the best of his white roof starting slot in the opening heat with a flag to flag victory. However veteran racer Kenny Carson used his years of race craft to outdrive Reid in heat 2 to take the honours. Reid again set the pace in the final with Carson piling on the pressure from mid race; Carson tried all he knew to get around Reid but couldn’t make it stick with Carson eventually settling for runner up.

In the support classes it was former F2 and economy banger driver Barry Smith who made his presence felt in the 1300 stock cars taking a fine heat and final double, the other heat was one by Ryan Stewart.

The speed stocks were also back in action where Sam Purdy and Adrian Finnegan shared the heat wins before Noel Hazlett cruised to victory in the final.

Next meeting will be this Wednesday 6th August at 7.30pm with F2’s,2L Saloons, 1300 Stock Cars and Juniors all on the programme.
