Golden kid Kincaid strikes again

Brisca f2 stock car Irish Champion Christopher Kincaid from Antrim reeled of yet another faultless hat trick of wins. 8 cars took to the track to contest the coveted Golden Helmet title which was run over 2 heats and a final. Kincaid completed the meeting undefeated bagging the much sought after Golden Helmet in the process, Bangor man Craig McConnell was another driver on the pace, he finished runner up in each race with teenager Mark Rainey picking up the last of the podium places in the feature race.

A’Niall’ated the completion

Niall McFerran’s unbroken record of final wins remains intact after the young Kilrea lad drove to another fine feature win. The juniors took to the track in big numbers providing 3 action packed races. Jack Patchett was the first to taste success when he lifted the flag in heat 1 before the Irish champion Aaron Moody claimed the honours in the second encounter. Anthony Kincaid looked very fast early in the final holding the advantage over the rapid McFerran as they blasted through the slower traffic. Kincaid drifted a little wide on the airport bend mid race allowing McFerran to take up the running and eventually the flag, Kincaid was runner up with Moody third.

Armstrong’s double

Another Antrim man on a winning streak is Ben Armstrong in the all action 1300 stock cars where he enjoyed a heat and final double. Armstrong, no stranger to victory lane in 2014 opened his account with a flag to flag victory in heat 1. Raymond Harper took the win in heat 2 before Armstrong was back on firm to get his hands on the silverware in the final. Harper finished second with Thomas Megarry third, Ryan Stewart and Calvin Blake had a great dice for fourth spot with Stewart coming out on top at the line.

Dissapointing duo in the 2L Saloons

A very poor showing of only 2 saloon stock cars were in attendance which was made by the current pace setter Ross Houston and Irish champion Ryan Wright. Houston completed the evening with a maximum of 30 points and the silverware while Wright enjoyed the track time to iron out some mechanical problems before contesting the British Championship this weekend (Sun 18th May) at the famous Racewall  Cowdenbeath in Scotland.

Next meeting at Nutts Corner Raceway will be Sunday May 25th at 2pm when the National bangers are back in town for the Unlimited May Metal Mania. Support formula will be 1300 Stock Cars, Junior Rods and Power Sliders.
