An Occasion For Sharing

It was a meeting for sharing in the Brisca F2's as each of the four races provided a different winner in what was the final domestic meeting for the open wheelers before the Speed Weekend on Saturday and Sunday here at the Corner. Matthew McCreight got his night of to a great start by recording a fine victory in heat one with Conor Hughes and Christopher Kincaid next across the line. Kincaid made his intentions clear in heat two by demonstrating an immaculate drive to take the win from Ryan McCrory and Craig McConnell. The final got of to a bumpy start for heat two winner Kincaid when he had a coming together with Willie Murray which subsequently lost the former Ben Fund Champion a lot of ground. McCrory made the best of this situation and soon made his way to the front of the pack leaving the rest to chase. McCrory went the distance to take the win from McCreight and Hughes unfortunately McCreights car failed the post race scrutineering he was consequently removed from the result. McCreight set the early pace in the Grand National event but Hughes had his sights set on the prize and quickly moved through to the front, Kincaid was pushing hard in second but it wasn't enough to take the honours and he had to settle for second with McCreight third.

Niall does it in Style

As has become customary the juniors were on track in big numbers. Heat one went the way of Jack Kennedy, the race was brought under yellows in the closing stages to retrieve the stricken Peugeot 106 of Cara Wightman after she had a nasty crash on the home straight, on the restart Kennedy commanded the race like a pro and went all the way to land an excellent victory. Local star Bradley McKinstry got his foot down to take the honours in the second heat. The final was an all action encounter with the youngster all battling hard for positions. Niall McFerran fought his way to the front of the field however he was under sever pressure from heat two winner McKinstry and Irish Champion Dean McCrory, McFerran showed he was no push over and completed the remaining laps in a fashion well beyond his years to take a fantastic win from McCrory and McKinstry.

No contest for Feeney

Irish Champion Dan Feeney completed the meeting with a perfect hat trick in the 1300 Stock Cars. Feeney's winning streak began in heat one with a fine last corner dash into the top spot. The rest of the meeting was a walk in the park for the Irish Champion; he won heat two with ease before battling his way from the back of the grid in the final to get his hands on the silverware with Raymond Harper in second and Michael Logan third.

Stewart brings McKee's winning streak to and end

Aaron Stewart brought the McKee brothers final winning streak in the ORC Lightning Rods to an abrupt end by getting his hands on the silverware. Richard Stewart took the honours in heat one before Tim Hazlett powered to a fine win in heat two. The final got of to a terrible start for R Stewart as he found himself spun around whilst he and Gordy McKee battled for the top spot. McKee occupied the top spot for several laps with Francie Allen, A Stewart and Hazlett all in chase before disaster struck for the race leader when he attempted to pass the back marking R Stewart. R Stewart forced the race leader to pass on the outside which allowed the chasing pack to drift up the inside. McKee's chance of a race win were spoiled but he gallantly raced on and almost made it back to the top spot but just run out of laps. Aaron Stewart took the win with McKee recovering well for second.
