50 Years of BriSCA Stock Car Racing in Northern Ireland

2018 marks the fiftieth anniversary of BriSCA Stock Car racing in Northern Ireland. The F2 class as we know it today was first introduced to the province back in 1968 at Dunmore Stadium in Belfast and the promoters at Ballymena and Nutts Corner Raceways propose to mark this significant milestone over the weekend of June 9 & 10, when then UK mainland BriSCA F2 drivers will be visiting the province to contest the Irish Open Championship and F2 Challenge Cup.

The open wheel Stock Car class has taken many forms down through those fifty years including the original 1250cc class, the 1300 GT class, Superstox and full affiliation with BriSCA F2. An open invitation is extended to all former drivers and officials to join our 50th. Anniversary celebrations at Ballymena on June 9 and Nutts Corner on June 10.

The organisers are keen to gauge numbers and would be grateful if any former driver or official who intends to come along could contact the respective promotion via their email address.

Nutts Corner Raceway: nuttscornerraceway@yahoo.co.uk

Any former driver with a racing car, past or present, which they would like to display at either meeting is kindly requested to get in touch. The promoters would like to thank Willie Finnegan and Lewis Foy for the assistance they have already provided towards this event. It is anticipated that a list of former drivers who intend to participate will be released in due course. Please feel free to share or pass on details to interested parties who may not be active on social media platforms.
